Caras by Mabani

Hi! My name is Mabani, & I am an Internationally Trained Professional Makeup Artist. I have always had a love for makeup, but coming from a very strict culture, growing up I was not allowed to wear any! I was always drawn to the arts with all the wonderful colors & textures. After exploring many career fields in both the artistic & traditional fields, with the help of my best friend, I started exploring my career path as a Makeup Artist. I have received Advance Makeup & Image Consulting training from Spain's ElitePro, Fashion Makeup training at Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry, & Pivot Point Cosmetology at The Modern Hairstyling Institute (where it all began!). I have also recieved ongoing professional education from Melissa Street (an Emmy award winning artist), Makeup Forever, MAC, & TNT Angency. In the past, I have also worked with such companies as MAC, CARGO, Laura Mercier, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, & Ulta Beauty. I have been in the Beauty Industry for just over 16 years now, but it was in 2007, when my passion for makeup led me to create Caras by Mabani & branch out as a freelance artist.

I keep Caras by Mabani continously evolving, and adding new products and techniques. I find that it is essential to always keep myself learning & up to date on the newest trends.

I'm extremely humbled of all I have done, & been able to achieve so far in my career. My work has been published internationally, nationally, and in local publications. I have been fortunate enough to have had the privilige to have worked with numerous designers and boutiques on their look books, as well model portfolios. My work was also seen gracing the runways during Savannah's Fashion Week & at the Jepson Center for the Arts, in which I was honored to have been selected as Lead Makeup Artist.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico & speak both English & Spanish fluently. My husband is in the military, so we move every couple of years. Currently, I am based out of Fuquay Varina, NC & serve all surrounding areas. I do travel & work on location. I provide makeup services for Weddings, special events, film, print, runway, designer/boutique lookbooks, commercial, & personal makeup lessons. In the future, I hope to be able to add Special Effects to my list of services.

I work with all types of makeup mediums including airbrush, both water & silicone based. ALL of the makeup I use is of professional grade & stands up to the toughest conditions. I personally test every single product that goes into my kit, if I don't feel it stands up to my high standards, it does not make the cut.
